INDIA'S FIRST BEE CITY – INAUGURATION

India’s first BEE CITY Project was launched under the auspicious presence of the Mayor of Panvel Municipal Corporation, Dr. Kavita Chaoutamal, and other esteemed guests working in the field of environment conservation.


The Bee City Project is an initiative of “MYVETS CHARITABLE TRUST & RESEARCH CENTRE,” which is working for the Environmental Conservation & Biodiversity Preservation in Maharashtra in various districts, Rural Villages and Forest Areas actively to support and provide sustainable livelihood to the Rural Tribal Women led by Dr. Madhurita Gupta, who has been striving relentlessly for the cause of Women Empowerment for more than a decade and has provided training to more than 300 Tribal Women of Tilari village in the Western Ghats as well as in various other villages. She has also provided training to CRPF & RAF soldiers and their families at Taloja for Biodiversity preservation in Kharghar. The pilot project is initiated at Kharghar wherein honey bee boxes have been installed at various places in phase-I to declare Kharghar as “BEE CITY – KHARGHAR” to conserve the Environment, Enhance Biodiversity, balance the Ecosystem through Education, Awareness, and support for Honey Bee Conservation. This initiative to conserve the ecosystem has proven instrumental and has enhanced the landscape by increasing the flora & fauna of the place.


Bee City also has a pan-India presence with having installed 200 Honey Bee Boxes in various places in Maharashtra and 200 in Rajasthan.
